🎼 Copy music, don’t copy music…that is clearly a hot topic and surely you have talked about this and have your own personal opinion on it.
I believe we all agree when you say that copying is clearly the starting point of learning music and a musical instrument.
After all, that’s how everyone gets started.
But can copying be enough? I am not just talking about basic imitation, I am also referring to very well-played and executed copies…
👉 Is copying and executing well the way to keep moving forward?
Personally, I don’t agree with this view and certainly, there’s more than just being told how to play songs, no matter how hard these songs might be.
I believe understanding music is the key to moving forward as a musician.
🌟 The more you understand, the more freedom you have.
The beautiful thing is that you start expressing yourself when playing. You stop being tied to what people tell you to play.
✔️ You’ll get out of the habit of just copying, and you’ll see you’ll start seeing the progress you want.
Moreover, regardless of how long you’ve been playing, you’ll see you won’t feel like an eternal beginner anymore.
🔥 Connecting the musical dots might not be easy at first, but brings great advantages.
So do you want to understand music and take your playing to the next level? Let me know in the comments.
